Apps

In addition to digital radio, internet content (internet radio, listen again programmes, podcasts and PURE Sounds), FM radio and music streaming, Sensia also runs internet apps like weather reports, Twitter and Facebook.

ChargePAK

Available either built-in, pre-installed or as an optional accessory for all PURE portable radios, ChargePAK is a rechargeable battery pack which charges when the radio is connected to the mains. ChargePAKs are much more economical than regular batteries and significantly kinder to the environment, reducing the quantity of batteries that end up in landfill sites. ChargePAKs are available from PURE stockists in three types: C6L, B-1 and E-1. Your product page will show which model fits your PURE radio.

Clearsound

PURE Clearsound is our digital end-to-end audio solution which uses high quality Class D amplifiers and digital audio shaping technology to provide clear dynamic audio, higher volume levels and low power consumption.

Electronic Programme Guide (EPG)

Some digital radio stations broadcast an Electronic Programme Guide, which gives up to seven days programme listings.

Flow

Products 'with Flow technology' use Wi-Fi to connect to the internet via their companion website the PURE Lounge (www.thelounge.com), which provides access to thousands of radio stations, listen again programmes, podcasts and unique content such as our library of PURE Sounds. You can also use Flow radios to browse and play music stored on a Wi-Fi enabled computer or network storage device. Flow products can also update themselves automatically, downloading and adding new product features as soon as they become available.

Intellitext

Intellitext provides on-demand access to news headlines, sports results and other extra information broadcast by participating digital radio stations.

Lounge

Our internet audio portal the PURE Lounge (www.thelounge.com) provides Flow-enabled products with access to internet radio, listen again programmes, podcasts and PURE sounds. The Lounge makes the thousands of stations and podcasts available on the internet manageable - its powerful features making it easy to find internet content that's of interest to you, save and share unlimited favourites with your Flow-enabled radios, access product updates and more. All PURE Flow-enabled products work with (are 'powered by') the Lounge.

Made for iPod

An Apple certification standard that guarantees iPod compatibility.

PowerPort

The PURE PowerPort is a USB power socket, suitable for USB-powered accessories such as mobile phone chargers, LED lamps, USB fans and more. PowerPort is not suitable for use with data accessories such as USB hubs.

Radio Frequency (RF)

RF remote controls have a longer range than infrared remotes and do not need line-of-sight.

ReVu

ReVu enables you to pause and rewind live radio at the touch of a button. From the moment you begin listening to a DAB station, the audio is saved to internal memory, so you can rewind the current station and listen again for up to 30 minutes, depending on the product.

SD card

A type of memory card used in portable devices. Secure Digital (SD) cards are widely used in digital cameras, digital camcorders, laptops, PDAs, media players and mobile phones.

SnoozeHandle

A touch-sensitive handle used on some PURE bedside radios. One touch snoozes the alarm or illuminates the clock.

textSCAN

textSCAN enables you to pause and control the scrolling text broadcast by digital radio and FM stations. If you miss a song title or website address, it's simple to pause the text, scroll back and check the details you need.

USB for playback

A front-mounted USB port which enables you to play MP3 and WMA files stored on a USB flash drive.

USB for upgrades

A mini USB input for product upgrades. When new features and improvements become available, software upgrades and full instructions are posted on the PURE support pages (support.pure.com) and registered users are notified by e-mail. Requires an internet-connected PC running Microsoft Windows.

Wi-Fi

The popular wireless technology supported by modern personal computer operating systems. All our 'with Flow technology' products are WI-FI CERTIFIED by the Wi-Fi Alliance.
